Orthopaedic surgery

In-House orthopaedic surgery

Orthopaedic surgery encompasses any surgery that is related to bones or joints. It includes procedures such as fracture repairs, luxating patella repairs and cruciate repairs to name a few. Complicated orthopaedic cases such as spinal surgery, will need to be referred to a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. Our veterinarians will assess each case individually and provide the best advice and treatment options for you and your pet.

Dr Michael Woodcock is our internal orthopaedic surgeon, he has over 25 years of experience as a veterinarian and has performed hundreds of orthopaedic procedures successfully. Dr Michael’s level of expertise, our skilled surgical nurses and our fully equipped surgical suite allow us to perform these procedures to the highest standard.

All surgical procedures are fully explained to you prior to any surgical intervention. During your consultation, our vets will explain the procedure required, pre-operative requirements, associated risks, their recommendations for optimum surgical success, as well as surgical and anaesthetic risks.

After your pet’s surgery, we will give you a call to let you know how the surgery went and to arrange collection of your pet. Our vets and vet nurses will also discuss post-operative care requirements on collection of your pet.
