Dr Michael Woodcock – vet
Who is Michael when he’s not being a vet?
An Iron Man! Michael competes in Iron Man Triathlons both here and abroad. Ask him what he did on the weekend and he’ll probably tell you casually that he rode 160km on his bike then ran 14km. He’s up at 4.30am training before work too! Michael also loves a good Mocha in the morning.
Michael graduated from the University of Queensland in 1993 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
Michael is an advanced surgeon, able to perform orthopaedic procedures and advanced soft tissue surgeries. He also has loads of experience with Birds & Exotics (snakes, lizards etc) and is a large animal vet. You could say Michael is the ultimate all-round super vet!
Michael has also visited one of the Royal Canin factories overseas and was very impressed with the quality and controls! Michael believes that good nutrition plays a big part in keeping our pets healthy.
DR Emma Dunning – Vet
Who is Emma when she’s not being a vet?
Dancing the night away! Emma is a mad keen dancer and has tried it all; everything from the Argentine tango, Ballroom, Salsa, Modern Jive, Jazz and Ballet right through to Square dancing. When she is not dancing up a storm Emma can be found at the beach playing beach volleyball, swimming, stand up paddle boarding or learning to surf.
Emma graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours).
Emma has a broad range of experience from her time in mixed practice. She enjoys treating all animals great and small however, her main area of interest is small animal surgery. She is currently studying to undertake her surgical memberships for this reason. She helps to share this passion with other vets through her work with continuing education workshops. When she’s not knee deep in surgery, Emma is a strong advocate of patient welfare though better client communication and education.
Dr Marta Dymitry – Vet
Who is Marta when she is not being a vet?
Outside of work, Marta loves spending time out in nature. She enjoys surfing, hitting or just laying on the beach. Marta recently moved from Perth so she is enjoying exploring the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Marta completed the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University in 2018.
Marta thoroughly enjoys surgery and is looking forward to building her surgical skills in the years to come. Marta also has a keen interest for nutrition and wildlife.
Simone Byatt – Vet Nurse
Who is Simone when she is not being a vet nurse?
Simone moved to the Sunshine Coast with her husband and high maintenance Burmese cat called Juniper 6 years ago. Since then she has adopted a rescue Chocolate Labrador who makes the “Marley and Me” Labrador look like a guide dog!
Simone brings with her 23 years of experience as a Veterinary Nurse! This includes 3 years working in training hospitals in the UK as well as working as an emergency nurse here in Australia. Simone has also played key roles in several large veterinary hospitals both on the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. We’re very lucky to have such an experienced nurse on our team!
Simone has been volunteering for ‘Sunshine Coast Turtle Care’ for the last four years and finds it incredibly rewarding. She is also very active in the veterinary industry and is an Administrator on an international veterinary nurses Facebook page. This page is dedicated to increasing awareness and providing support for mental health in the veterinary nursing industry. Simone is passionate about geriatric patients and educating owners about their special needs, and is secretly a crazy cat lady!
Irina Petersen – Vet nurse
Who is Irina when she is not being a vet nurse?
Outside of work, Irina loves to travel and experience new cultures. She also enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, camping, fishing and boating. Irina also loves to relax and restore by reading a good book.
Irina has completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in Russia. She has been working in the veterinary industry for over 10 years!
Irina is particularly interested in surgical nursing and intensive care as well as laboratory diagnostics.
Sheridan Mitchell – Vet Nurse
Who is Sheridan when she is not being a vet nurse?
Outside of work Sheridan keeps herself busy by photographing wildlife, bushwalking, camping, listening to music, reading and jogging.
Sheridan has been working as a nurse since 2007 and graduated from TAFE NSW in 2009 with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Sheridan has a special interest in our avian friends as well as wildlife.
Annabelle Russell – Vet Nurse
Who is Annabelle when she is not being a vet nurse?
Annabelle loves taking her two dogs, Lenny the Labrador and Dr. Dre the Blue Heeler to the beach. In her spare time she enjoys yoga/pilates and playing music.
Anabelle loves travelling and has spent time volunteering in animal shelters overseas.
Annabelle has been a Veterinary Nurse for 4 years, but is also studying Law. She plans to become an Animal Rights Lawyer.
Annabelle has an interest in animal behaviour and aims to make every visit as stress free as possible for your pet. She loves hairy ears and squeezing anything pustular. As well as loving surgical nursing, Annabelle enjoys spending time with clients and educating them on parasite prevention and nutrition.
Jazmine Parker – Vet Nurse

Jessica Oakes – Vet Nurse
Who is Jess when she is not being a vet nurse?
Jess has recently moved to the Sunshine Coast and is enjoying the beach lifestyle. When she’s not in the sun, she can be found hiking up a mountain and living the outdoor life. Jess also loves live music and is a keen gig-goer.
Jessica has a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Jess has a keen interest in orthopaedic procedures and enjoys nursing her patients throughout and after their procedures.
She loves the surgery nursing side of her job, and will be found in the hospital on any given day, being a super organised ninja and keeping the vets busy.
Jess loves cats, she has two little furry creatures of her own that get lots of love from their mummy.
Genelle Irwin – Groomer
Who is Genelle when she is not being a groomer?
Outside of work Genelle loves to spend time with her family and friends and her pet Pug named Pearl (we like to call Pearl our clinic mascot).
Genelle is a very skilled groomer with 10 years experience under her belt.
Genelle loves all aspects of grooming however she does have a special interest in Poodle Grooming.
